SPECIMEN.

Inspired by natural specimens - seen & collected while out walking - this collection of vases has been developed from  my 'Collections' work.

Working from my original drawings, the specimens are applied to the surface of the clay first with pencil to give me a guide to follow. They are then hand-painted with underglaze & also scratched back ('Sgraffito') through the underglaze, revealing the porcelain clay below.
